What A Treat To Live Here.

We live in an enchanted place. I was playing golf earlier today and while standing on the 18th tee at Oakridge, with the birds drifting over the fairway and an alligator snoozing on the bank next to some turtles, I mentioned to a friend that if someone had tried to describe this place to me while I was growing up in The Bronx, I wouldn't have been able to picture the scene. What a treat to live here.

This Is What Makes The Landings Home.

Terry and I love the Island for two primary reasons: Amenities - The total amenity package on The Landings is second to no other community. Some other complexes may brag about a "great championship golf course" or an "unbelievable marina," but The Landings has it all. Six championship golf courses - I have friends in Naples that live in communities with one golf course, I just can't imagine how monotonous that would be playing the same course three to four days a week. The variety of our courses is very special and each one offers a great challenge.

Reason #2 that it is so special.... the friends that you meet and socialize with at The Landings. We all come from different backgrounds, different areas of the Country, different ages, but it's just amazing how, in a short period of time, you develop such close friendships... friends that you can really count on! No advertising or merchandising or promotion can relay this special quality of The Landings... but to Terry and I this is what makes The Landings Home!

A Wonderful Community with a Low-Key Approach to Life

When we came through the gate and saw the lush subtropical forest, we knew that we had to find out more about The Landings. We also found the many miles of shaded walking/biking trails very appealing, for they take you places you cannot reach by car. Being on the north-south flyway provides an extraordinary variety of birds. We are boaters and wanted to be on the water, but not live in a beach community. The two marinas here at The Landings provide easy access to boating. But, it was nice to discover that they offer social activities for non-boaters, as well.    We wanted to know about the tennis program, too. We were surprised by the large number of tennis courts available and by how comprehensive the program is. Many people here participate in classes at the fitness center, also, and use it on a regular basis. We love to swim and found the three facilities to be attractive to young and old alike. Of course, the six golf courses impressed us -- not only by how lovely they are, but because they are all so different and interesting to play. For non-golfers wanting to learn golf, the professional staff here is exceptional and many programs are offered.

It was interesting to learn that The Landings has the biggest women's golf Association in the US.   There are four clubhouses at The Landings and they provide delicious food with diverse menus. We found The Landings Club to be well maintained and very affordable.

Since we wanted to live in a diverse community, we were pleased by the demographics of The Landings. The Landings is not a retirement community. Yes, retirees live here. But, so do many of Savannah's professionals. It is a pleasure seeing school aged children engaged in activities island-wide.

The variety of houses and prices available impressed us. We liked the fact, too, that The Landings is not a resort community. The people who live here are not transient. How, then, do new people meet other residents? We found out that The Landings has one of the biggest and most active "New Neighbor" programs that we had ever seen. The number of non-athletic and social activities available is amazing. Even spouses who are reluctant to leave their current community find that making congenial new friends here is extremely easy. Friendships at The Landings seem to be based not on what you did before moving here, but on what you like to do now that you are here. The Landings is a wonderful recreational community with a low-key approach to life. We are really pleased to be here.

We Chose To Retire At The Landings Because Of The Beauty Of The Island.

We chose to retire at The Landings because of the beauty of the Island. It is a nature-lover's paradise with such an array of well designed homes, delightful landscaping, natural vegetation, interesting wildlife, and such fantastic birds. My husband loves the six golf courses at The Landings. I play some golf, but the big draw for me is the historic city of Savannah, which offers many artsy and literary events. And, the people at The Landings -- let's not forget the fun, friendly, down-to-earth people who live here, who are daily reminders that we made the right choice.

We Don't Like The Landings, WE LOVE IT!

We moved from Boston, Massachusetts in 2000. Mark lived within five miles of his birthplace until moving to The Landings. We traveled from coast-to-coast before making the decision to move here. The Landings has met all of our expectations. This community is unique in many respects. There are many couples that are starting new life together, many couples have moved all over the world and this is their first long-term residence. We, on the other hand, are people who really have not had much change in our lives (fortunately). We are content with who we are, what we own and our lives! One might think that such differences would make it difficult for people to connect. Not so! The diversity of the residents and the many interests they bring to the community make each day a new adventure. The organizations are so abundant and the opportunity to try new activities at times can be overwhelming. For the sedate, there are antique groups, political organizations, opportunity to do research and study any subject from the Bible to Peru. For the more active, there is golf, tennis, fitness, biking, walking groups and running groups. For the newcomers, there is New Neighbors, Landlovers, Men's Club etc. For the shy there, are coffees to help them make connections and a group from just about every state.

No, we don't like The Landings, WE LOVE LIVING HERE.

We Chose Paradise

We chose "The Landings" because we are avid golfers and couldn't resist living on six private golf courses. We were attracted to the beauty of the Island and the variety of homes and ages of the residents. We felt welcome and "at home" from the first day we visited. After living here for three years, we know we made the best choice possible. All our expectations have been exceeded. We even resist taking vacations because we feel like we are on vacation every day.

THE LANDINGS WAS OUR CHOICE!

“Our first encounter with The Landings was through a Discovery Package which we had seen advertised in Links Magazine. We purchased a lot and later built our dream home. We had looked at Florida and Arizona, but decided that the Savannah area and The Landings was right for us. The Landings has great amenities, a moderate climate for gardening and the cultural experiences that most private communities lack. Coming from Chicago, we wanted to be able to enjoy experiences like the theater and fine dining which the Savannah area offers.

If someone told us they were interested in The Landings, we would tell them to go directly to The Landings Company --- the agents are accommodating ambassadors for our community and experts in their field!"

The Landings is The Best!

“Bill and I heard about The Landings back in 1990 from Bill’s co-worker and after retirement, we moved to Florida. However, on a visit to The Landings in 1996, as we were bike riding along the trails, it hit us …. The Landings is beautiful! It has everything! We loved the natural beauty, the seasons, the atmosphere, the diversity of homes, and of course, the golf and boating. We felt that The Landings offered us a great value. And so, we decided to move here and couldn’t be happier.

“We can’t say enough good things about The Landings Company and our sales agents. They took the time to listen and understand us, they were able to find us the perfect home.”
