Why We Only Built Six Golf Courses. The 7th Day Is For Fishing.....
For the skilled angler or the weekend troller, the fishing life at The Landings is both bountiful and varied.
For big game fishing, The Landings has two full-service, deep-water marinas –Landings Harbor and Delegal Creek Marina. The marinas provide offshore access to multiple natural and manmade reefs that attract highly prized fish – among them red snapper, grouper, trigger fish, black sea bass, sheepshead, cobia and king mackerel.
For the big, big game fishermen, just 60-90 miles offshore runs the Gulf Stream, where sailfish, marlin, dolphin and yellow and black fin tuna provide the ultimate challenge.
If you prefer solid footing, The Landings is home to 152 lagoons. Half of those are freshwater, where largemouth bass is the prized catch. One expert says our largemouth bass fishing is the best in our area. The other 70-some are brackish and saltwater lagoons. There you’ll find spotted sea trout, spottail bass, flounder, ladyfish, black drum, tarpon and snook to name a few. We also maintain a fully stocked kids fishing lagoon on a year round basis and conduct an annual Kids Fishing Derby which is a very popular event.
In the tidewater creeks, rivers and saltwater marsh which surround Skidaway Island, fish for all of the species found in the saltwater lagoons in addition to several varieties of shark, whiting and spanish mackerel.
Somewhere at The Landings, the fish are always biting.
